PHASE II – LAKE CLUB RENOVATION
Lake Toxaway completed “Phase II” of its comprehensive club renovation plan with the opening of an all-new Lake Club amenity in the summer of 2020.
The project, led by Architect Mark Diedrich with KUO Diedrich took advantage of the natural drop in elevation toward the lake, allowing a stunning, unobstructed lake view while enjoying the new 3,000 square foot heated pool complete with wading shelf, bubblers, and a perimeter overflow edge. For fitness users, the pool is well-suited for water aerobics and two lap lanes strategically placed and marked across the bottom of the pool.
A Youth Activities building is adjacent to the pool allowing the youngest members of the Club access to air hockey, ping-pong and other various games. A new sidewalk and landscaped entrance with a gate greets visitors arriving at the new pool. The pool deck provides ample opportunities to sun bathe and sit with family and friends under shaded umbrellas with plenty of lounging space. The expansive deck area is also perfect for private parties or for children looking to gather and meet friends. The pool terrace also houses a new bath house with restrooms, lockers, and an outdoor shower.
The Lake Club Grille overlooks the pool and serves as a halfway house for golfers as well as a “Boaters Porch” to accommodate those visiting by boat and parked at the docks below. The Grille serves alcoholic beverages, casual fare and pizza in a relaxed atmosphere. Bathing suits and flip flops are welcome at the Grille. The Grille also serves as a convenient spot for Tennis, Croquet and Pickleball players to enjoy lunch or dinner after play.
